The Story Behind Toomer Strategies

In my work with clients and organizations, I’ve found that there is increasing value placed on an authentic equity lens, long-range perspective, emotional intelligence, and lived experience, especially when paired with expertise and solution-focused competencies. Through Toomer Strategies, that is what I offer in the form of insight, strategic counsel, and solutions. My practice puts decades of multi-sector knowledge and a practiced equity lens to work for visionary individuals and mission-driven organizations on the issues and missions that matter most.

I took stock of my full work and career life: what I gained from the inspiring people I worked with, the environments I found meaningful and rewarding, and the situations that worked and those that didn’t. I sought advice from colleagues and friends on feasibility, infrastructure, and my passion for the work I am called to do.

This process wasn’t unfamiliar territory. Over the years I’ve recognized that examining both accomplishments and missteps, victories and setbacks, is exactly what ignites change and growth. It creates the turning point for rising higher.
